New Age of Decadence

“DECADENCE” - In a society, it describes corrosive decline due to a perceived erosion of morals.
Ever noticed how our luxurious self indulgence… our decadence and of those around us has always been on the rise? Seems to get more and more decadent as each year passes. Some say that if societies persist on in their state of decadence, they will be unable or unwilling to commit to their own upkeep and fall into decline.
However, in this day of age, it has become a lifestyle… and once again I am down the path of uber decadence, blazing a trail with charred remains in my path. Am not trying to complain here, I mean, after all I am having a great time all over again. I just can’t help but wonder, am I going all out partying because I am not happy with some aspect in my life? hmm, either that or I’m suffering from jager-bomb withdrawals. hehe.
Still, our societies being ever more decadent could be a sign that, in general, more and more of us feel no sense of purpose in life. And we continually over indulge ourselves every weekend (and weekdays for happy hour) drowning ourselves in cocktails, whiskey and social whoring. I wonder if it is possible for us to find that purpose, that meaning in life and still go out partying our socks off… a balance between purpose and decadence. interesting… lol
